AL99, pronounced AL Nine-Nine, is a multi-talented artist, musician, songwriter, producer, and engineer who is challenging the norm and redefining the boundaries of Hip Hop music. By seamlessly blending his diverse talents and artistic expressions, he transforms the ordinary into something distinctly his own. He is hard to pin down, and that is exactly the point. One record might lean into the grit and lyricism of East Coast Hip Hop, while the next moves into soulful melodies, introspective R&B, hard hitting Trap, or something altogether unexpected. He is just as comfortable delivering bars over a dusty boom bap loop as he is experimenting with heavy 808s, live instrumentation, guitar driven production, or lush atmospheric textures. His lyrics cut through the noise with precision, sometimes poetic, sometimes painful, sometimes unapologetically confident, but always intentional.

Music runs deep in AL99’s bloodline. His grandfather was a member of the legendary a cappella group The Persuasions, creating a generational connection to soul, storytelling, harmony, and vocal excellence. That musical heritage lives in AL99’s work today, but he has built his own sound and identity around it. For AL99, it is more than heritage. It is foundation.

That foundation reached a major milestone in 2025 when AL99 penned his first distribution deal with UMG/Bungalo Records, opening a new chapter in his career and expanding the reach of music released through his independent label, TPC Music Production.

His debut album, ELEVATE, introduced a wider audience to the depth of his artistry and delivered three records that earned recognition on the DRT Global Top 100 Independent Artists chart. “POP” reached #5, “SUPERDUPER” reached #6, and “WHY II” reached #5.

AL99 continued that momentum beyond the album. His collaboration “Addictive Visions,” featuring Aisha Hall, reached #3 on the DRT Global Top 100 Independent Artists chart. He followed with “SUPERDUPER (Remix),” featuring the legendary Smooth B of Nice & Smooth, which climbed all the way to #1. Together, the five DRT charting records demonstrate something central to AL99’s identity as an artist. His versatility is not confined to one sound, one flow, or one type of record.

As his music gained momentum, AL99 took that energy directly to audiences across the country through performances, press appearances, interviews, and showcases. In New York City, he showcased with ThisIs50 and WorldStar HipHop. His Atlanta press run included appearances with WeFam ATL, HASH1 ATL, HYPE 87.3, and Industries Most Wanted with Tampa Mystic. In Miami, AL99 continued expanding his reach with appearances on The Best Kept Secret Show and the Da Empress & Panda Radio Show.

Those appearances add to an already growing performance history that has taken AL99 from the DMV to New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Atlanta, Miami, and other markets across the country.

What makes AL99 compelling, however, is not simply where he has performed or how high a record has charted. It is the range of stories he is willing to tell.

He writes about addiction without romanticizing it, depression without watering it down, street life without turning it into a costume, love without losing vulnerability, and ambition without pretending the journey has been easy. His music reflects his life experiences, cultural influences, observations of society, and his belief that great music should make the listener feel something. Whether he is delivering an introspective record, a melodic hook, a gritty Hip Hop verse, or simply talking his talk on a record, AL99 approaches the music with purpose.

His musical influences are just as diverse as his sound. His guitar influences include Eddie Van Halen, Nile Rodgers, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Eric Johnson, while artists including Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Future have influenced different aspects of his musicality, performance, songwriting, lyricism, and vocal approach. Behind the boards, AL99 studies the work of legendary producers including Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre, Zaytoven, and Swizz Beatz.

That combination of influences makes even more sense when you understand the musician behind the microphone.

AL99 earned degrees in Audio Production and Music Business, giving him both the creative and business foundation to build a career on his own terms. He writes and composes music, produces, plays guitar and keyboard, engineers, mixes, and masters. His fans call him “Versatile AL,” while his peers have called him “The GENIUS.” Both names speak to the same thing. AL99 does not simply want to be known as someone who can rap. He wants to create the entire musical experience.

Now, AL99 is preparing to introduce the next evolution of that experience.

On September 25, 2026, he will release his new album, IT’S ME, a project that brings the many sides of AL99 together in one body of work. Led by the standout title track “IT’S ME,” the album delivers the versatility that has become his signature, showcasing his musicality, songwriting, production, musicianship, melodies, lyricism, and ability to shift flows without losing his identity.

The title itself feels fitting.

IT’S ME is more than an introduction. It is a declaration.

After the awards, the performances, the press runs, the collaborations, the growth, and the years spent sharpening every side of his craft, AL99 is stepping forward without needing to fit neatly into anyone else’s definition of what a Hip Hop artist should sound like or look like.
